Rare Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Diary Holder Chatelaine Birm 1898 + Diary.
The absolute sweetest antique Victorian chatelaine sterling silver miniature diary holder with original diary dated 1889. The chatelaine itself is in wonderful condition with a strong functioning handle and a beautiful ornate surrounding edge. Fully hallmarked Birmingham 1898 by Henry Matthews.
The diary is also in wonderful condition. Opening the first page you can see that it has the name of ‘Lilly’ written in pencil. There is only one diary entry on the 1st January 1889 which says “125”. It contains explanations of things such as Law Sittings and Terms, University Terms, Holidays, Inland Postal Dates, Stamp Duties, as well as a calendar and obviously, the diary section.
A rare piece with the original diary and in the condition that it’s in.
