Rare WW2 Sterling Silver Child’s Air Raid Identity Bracelet
A Rare WW2 Sterling Silver Child’s Air Raid Identity Bracelet. I’ve not seen many of these and certainly not in sterling silver. Inscribed with the child’s name and address - Tom Silk, 210 Cheshire St. , Bethnal Green, E2.
Not everyone could bear to see their children evacuated during WW2. And the Government stated that if children were not evacuated, they had to wear an identity bracelet during air raids, so that if a child got lost or killed, or their Mother or Father were killed or injured in the bombings, then somebody could identify the child from their bracelet.
Condition is good. Commensurate with age.
Silver tag measures 3.5cm x 1.7cm.
Weighs 3.35 grams.
