Rare Antique French Child’s Miniature Toy Sabre Sword c.1820

A very charming and very rare antique French child’s toy sabre and scabbard based upon ‘Garde Royale’ patt sword of 1820. With part blued blade and beautiful curved brass handle. It also has two brass strips with floral detail on the scabbard and two rings to attach it to a belt.
A truly lovely item with incredible detail considering it was made as a toy for a child. I like to believe that a Cavalry Officer had it made for his child as a birthday present. And it very likely was.
The condition is very good for its age. It looks like it may have been heavily polished and the scabbard is quite loose.
Obviously, as it was meant for a child, whilst the blade is steel, it doesn’t have a bladed edge. So it’s perfectly safe.
