Rare Antique Prisoner Of War Carved Wood Box And Miniature Coffin Shaped Wood And Bone Memento Mori Inside With Attached Chain And Silver Cross (marked sterling). Not 100% On Age, But Possibly Napoleonic Wars.
Condition is good, commensurate with age. Some discolouration to the outer base of the box and a small mark to the front outer lip of the box, possibly ink. Fabulous piece overall though.
Measures 10cm x 4.5cm x 3cm (box). 7cm x 2cm x 1cm (coffin). 14cm in length (chain + cross).
