An Incredible Antique 18th Century Religious Bog Oak & Bronze Combination Crucifix And Wax Seal Pendant. It Would Have Belonged To Someone Of Great Importance. The Seal Reads ‘MAR’ Under A Crown And ‘FFG’ Surrounding A Heart.
‘MAR’ is believed to be a title given to all saints and also used before the Christian names of bishops. ‘FFG’ is possibly the initials of whoever owned the crucifix.
Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound. Some areas of wear to the wood.
