A curious antique early 1800’s 18 page document containing a six and a half page article listing in chronological date order the executions of Witches and Wizards accused of practicing the dark arts. This is followed by a ten and a half page story of a ghost.
Makes for an interesting but rather disturbing read, knowing now that these poor victims, mainly women, were persecuted for…well…being women. It was believed at the time that women were more likely to be accused because of the church’s teaching that women were the weaker sex and were seen as more vulnerable to the seductive powers of the Devil!
The first half page and last page have unrelated partial articles.
Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. The first page has separated from the rest else in good order.
