A rare set of 19th century architectural pattern moulds, comprising carved wooden master patterns and associated cast examples, used in the production of decorative architectural ornaments.
The patterns would originally have been used to produce repeated elements for cast iron or composition ornaments, such as panels, brackets, cornice enrichments, or fireplace and interior architectural details. Traces of red lead primer remain on the cast surfaces, consistent with period ironwork preparation.
The gargoyle and one of the wings are made of cast iron and the other wing is carved from wood.
Rare survivors whose decorative character might resonate with collectors from the fantasy role-playing community.
Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound.
