A Remarkable World War 1 Make Do Sterling Silver Vesta Case With Modified Wooden Debris Fragment Inserted By A Soldier As A Memento Of A Bombing They Survived During The Great War. The Wooden Debris Fragment Has A Large H And A Smaller G Carved Into It, And Had A Charred Corner. The Case Itself Is Hallmarked Birmingham 1912.

It’s a remarkable piece of history and a sombre reflection of the grave consequences of war.

Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound, functions well but some dinks and scratches.
