A Wonderfully Creepy Antique Folk Art Gift & Letter Of Provenance Dated 1905. The Letter Explains That Two Figures Are Made From The Seed Vessels Of The Snap Dragon. No Idea What Possessed Them To Gift This To Someone…! Still, It Makes For A Fabulous Talking Point And Would Be A Great Addition To A Cabinet Of Curiosities.
The Letter Is Dated 24th December 1905 And Reads:
”Dear Mr McRaith,
How very good of you to send me these lovely pieces, I do not know how to thank you enough. The larger ones will make very good warm skirts and the smaller ones will do nicely for quilts. I wish you a very happy Xmas and new year and have sent you a bit of my handy work that I have been doing whilst having nothing of more importance on hand, it may please your family. The faces are the seed vessels of the snap dragon and are rather difficult to dress so excuse all imperfections.
