A Rare Early 19th Century Papier Mache Hand Painted Snuff Box.

The person depicted on the snuff box is wearing what appears to be the insignia of the Order of the Garter, specifically the Garter star. From this, it’s likely that the individual is a high-ranking member of the British royal family or a notable figure from the nobility during the time when this order was prominent.

Based on the facial features, military-style uniform, and the Garter star, it’s highly likely that this is King George IV, as he was a prominent member of the Order of the Garter and wore uniforms similar to the one in this portrait during the late 18th and early 19th century.

The red collar and distinct facial profile are similar to how George IV was depicted in several of his portraits. If this is a depiction of George IV, it aligns with his service in military regalia and his role as the Sovereign of the Garter during his reign.

Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound with good strong imagery.
