An Unusual 19th Century Brooch Containing Period Miniature Paper Handwritten Notes. A Curious Little Piece. Could It Be A Form Of Love Token? Or A Mourning Piece Perhaps? Has Initials Engraved To The Back And Also Has A Pendant Loop. The Metal Looks Like Gold But Is Unmarked And Untested.

Having Spent Days Trying To Work Out What The Paper Notes Might Mean, I Think I May Have Finally Cracked It! I’m Almost Certain That It Reads:

"…Still all my song shall be, Nearer, my God, to thee, Nearer to thee."

This Refers To ‘Hymn 845’ from "psalms and hymns" Chas. Robinson , 1875.

Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound and functions well.

Measures 2.6cm x 1.5cm

Weighs 4.25 grams
