A Rare Original Signed Sketch By Lifer, Charles Bronson, Britain’s Most Notorious Prisoner. Comes Framed And With A Certificate Of Authenticity.
Charles Arthur Salvador, better known as Charles Bronson, is a British criminal, with a violent and notorious life as a prisoner. He has spent periods detained in the Rampton, Broadmoor, and Ashworth high-security psychiatric hospitals, where he has been held in solitary confinement for much of his time there.
Bronson has said that he loved a “rumble” and enjoyed mass brawls in prison, but insisted he was now a reformed prisoner and had found solace in art, and was a man of peace.
Bronson is one of the UK’s longest-serving prisoners, having served 48 years, but he will remain behind bars after being denied release by the Parole Board this year. None of the prison and probation officials who gave evidence at the parole hearing said he was ready to be released.
This sketch is an indication of what life has been like for Bronson behind bars and I guess his quote that “Broadmites sleep with one eye open and a smile….” is open to interpretation.
These pieces will rocket in price when Bronson pops his clogs so a fantastic investment piece!
Condition is excellent.
