A wonderful 19th century vertebrae from a horse or cow which has been hand painted to depict the priest John Wesley.
John Wesley was an English preacher and founder of Methodism. He emphasised personal faith, holiness, and social action, sparking a major religious revival in Britain and America.
It is documented that these pieces may have been made to poke fun at Wesley’s new evangelical religion of the period.
