A Creepy Framed Vintage Portrait Painting Of A Woman. Painted On Board And Unsigned. Framed In An Ornate Vintage Frame. Painting Was Found In London. Likely A London Art School Piece.
The Face Is Softly Defined With Warm, Muted Tones And Has A Somewhat Haunting, Ethereal Feel. The Background Is Dark, Creating A Sense Of Mystery And Possibly Tension. The Lips Are Painted A Deep Colour, And The Expression Seems Neutral But With An Eerie, Ghostly Quality. The Light On The Face Is Subtle, Giving It An Almost Surreal Or Dreamlike Atmosphere.
Condition is good, commensurate with age. Structurally sound. There are a couple of what looks like glue marks on the painting, one near the top and one near the bottom (please see photos). But this doesn’t detract from the beauty and tension of the piece.
