A Wonderful Rare Antique Early 18th Century ‘Flower Pot’ Bodied Free-blown Wine Bottle With Long Neck, c.1710-1720. Full Original Gloss, Classic Tapering Sides Round Shoulders. Crudely Formed. String Rim And Rough Pontil, Indicating It Was Hand-Blown And Broken From The Rod, A Hallmark Of Early Bottles.
This Form Of Bottle Evolved From The Earlier, Rounder Onion Bottles Of The Late 1600s To A More Elongated Version Around 1710-1720.
Condition is good, commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound. No chips or cracks.
